THE EVE
Any scene of a moderate size willl have its tangled web of overlapping bandmembers and band offshoots. The Eve — Joel Weisberger, Wayne Garcia, and Mark Hoyt — serve as a textbook example. They played the New Brunswick area between 1984 and 1988, during which time the scene was in its second wave of expansion, and were a post-hardcore trio in the mold (if you will) of Hüsker Dü's Zen Arcade: loud, raw, fast, tuneful. And as with so many bar bands, their recorded output was a series of demos that went no further; that's unfortunate based on the one track I've heard. After the Eve's breakup, Joel and Wayne played in Littlehood with Keith Hartel (Pleased Youth, Motel Shootout, True Love) and Bruce Wayne (with Adrenalin O.D.'s Bruce Wingate; right, Bruce and Wayne). Joel reports also playing with a host of other NJ bands, none of which are known to me, but include BobFields, Stuyvesant, High School Sweethearts, and Dirty Knees. Currently Joel drums for the Insomniacs. I suspect the other bandmembers would have similarly extensive resumes.
